Seungri was involved in operating the Burning Sun club, which due to a simple assault investigation, revealed multiple types of illegal activity happening inside, from sexual assault, prostitution, illegal footage filming, drug distribution, illegal gambling, tax evation and even collusion with officials. 

Since the investigation started as a simple assault investigation, Seungri used a broadcast to promote his business and try to benefit from it, but that would eventually backfire as more and more corruption was found during the investigation, leading eventually to his "dishonorable" retirement from the entertainment industry and his arrest.
