> **Shin Junghyeon** (신중현) is a South Korean Male Soloist who debuted solo in 2013.

In 1955 he became an assistant to the 8th U.S. Army performance Corps after dropping from High School. He was only a carrier running errands who played on the side until 1957, when he was allowed to debut as a guitarist at the stage, becoming an instant hit. He played under the stage name "Hicky"

In 1964, after leaving the U.S. Corps, he formed band Ad Hoo, one of the first bands to introduce the bass guitar to Korea. However he realized it was too soon for Rock in Korea and returned to the 8th U.S. Army Entertainment Corps in 1967, where he composed and played. His song "Pearl Sisters" became a hit and because of that, in 1968, he left the Corps to start a serious work as composer and consultant.

Working with multiple artists, he encouraged them to introduce other genres and is considered by many to be the grandfather of Rock and many other genres in Korea.

During the military regime, he refused to praise the regime and suffered multiple threats and bans on almost all broadcasts. In 1975 he was arrested for smoking Marijuana, even though he didn't.

After the worst of the Military Regime had passed, Shin was able to come back and keep broadcasting and composing until a retirement performance in December 2006.
