Born in Ohio, United States, her training process in the music industry began well before her entry in THEBLACKLABEL, having worked as a child model in several advertising campaigns for sports brands like Adidas. The start of her journey in Korean entertainment occurred in 2018 when she joined YG Entertainment as a trainee. During this development period, she honed her technical singing and dancing skills. In 2021, Gawon transitioned to THEBLACKLABEL, where she continued her training focused on performance versatility. Her entry into MEOVV solidified her position at the forefront of the group, taking on the roles of Leader.
