Lay (레이) is a South Korean Male Soloist and Idol(Born in China) who debuted solo in 2016. He started in group EXO.
Debuted with EXO-M in 2012, being the only Chinese member remaining in SM Entertainment up to the end of his contract in 2022. Although he departed SM, he claimed he would still be part of EXO, but he did not participate on EXO's 2023 release "Exist"
Lay established his personal studio in China in 2015 for solo activities, releasing numerous successful solo EPs and albums. He has also acted in TV shows and films.
He faced some criticism from international fans for his strong public support of the Chinese government's stances on politically sensitive issues, which is common for Chinese idols active in mainland China to avoid Chinese censorship.
