한 Yoo Hyunsang
Yoo Hyunsang (유현상) is a South Korean Male Soloist and Idol who debuted solo in 1995. He started in group Love & Peace.
Was a member of multiple bands including his debut with Rock Band Four Seasons, participating in 1982 with Love & Peace, and Baekdusan in 1986.
When the military regime returned to Korea in 1987 he and Kim Taewon were arrested supposedly for marijuana use despite him not even smoking. He says he was tortured and forced to confess. After release he would go on to make his own agency and try to form a new band, but due to low funds and in-fighting, it quickly disbanded.
Married famous Swimmer Choi Yunhee in extreme secrecy due to her parents opposition towards him and the age gap of 14 years. Eventually when the wedding became public Yoo Hyunsang was immediately ostracized for fears he "kidnap-married" her (forced marriage).
He later came back as a solo trot singer.
In 2008, Baekdusan had a reunion where despite his age, he still sang. However by then his voice was starting to fail and he went back to playing the guitar. As of 2024, he is still considered as active, being the CEO and producer for Baekdusan Entertainment.
