Jiwon spent three years as a trainee under JYP Entertainment, gaining public recognition as a contestant on Mnet’s 2015 survival show "SIXTEEN" and appearing in miss A's "Only You" music video. After departing JYP, she entered the show "Idol School" as an independent contestant, ranking 6th to join the final debut lineup of Fromis_9.
