ITZY (있지) is a South Korean Girl Group that debuted in 2019. They consist of 5 members: Yeji, Chaeryeong, Lia, Ryujin and Yuna.

ITZY was assembled through a selective internal evaluation system that brought together trainees who had already made significant public appearances across major survival shows and media projects. Prior to their official formation, the candidates navigated years of rigorous training in vocal discipline, rapid choreography, and stage presence.

Individual members built early individual recognition: Yeji appeared on the reality competition show "The Fan", gaining immediate attention for her sharp dance technique; Chaeryeong spent years in the public eye after competing on both "K-Pop Star 3" and the survival show "Sixteen"; Ryujin gained nationwide prominence as the top female contestant on the survival program "MIXNINE"; and Yuna gained early visibility through her appearance in a agency highlight reel. Joining them as a vital core component, Lia trained extensively in vocal performance both locally and internationally, refining the vocal stability for their vocal arrangements.

During their early development, the group focused heavily on establishing a distinct identity centered on self-confidence, empowerment, and sharp, high-energy performance dynamics. Sharing late-night practice sessions and joint evaluation stages, the trainees forged a unified group dynamic that prioritized athletic choreography and live vocal stamina.
