They officially debuted on May 26, 2015, with a live showcase televised by MBC, making them the first male group to debut with a one-hour live broadcast. Their debut EP, 17 Carat, featured the title track Adore U and became a sleeper hit, eventually becoming the longest-charting Korean music album of the year in the United States. Throughout their career, they have been recognized for their intricate choreography and unique structure consisting of thirteen members divided into three specialized units: Hip-hop, Vocal, and Performance. They made history as the first Korean music act to perform on the main stage of the Glastonbury Festival in 2024 and being appointed as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth.
